What a great day! Over 100 artists, from Canada, the US, Australia, Argentina, as well as the Monterey Bay area, printed this year. Lucky MPC printmaker Galen got to make prints while on a soujourn in Greece. Welcome to Taller de Artes Plasticas/Devoto-Argentina joining us. It’s just about time for our annual Print Day in May!!

Hello Printmakers,
On Saturday May 7 (first Saturday in May), printmakers from around the globe will be doing what they love most-PRINTING!!!!
This is the 5th International Print Day in May, begun by MPC Printmakers in Monterey, California.
Please join us for this heady and wonderful experience. Do what you love to do, and know that art pals far and wide will be doing it with you. Imagine the feeling of connection, and the pure FUN of it!!!

To participate, all you have to do is print anything, anywhere, sometime between midnight and midnight on May 7, 2011.

To make it an even richer experience for all involved, there are a few things you can do:

1. Let us know in advance where you plan to print, and with whom
2. Let us know if you have room to host anyone
3. Send a message or messages to our blog:

An “intention to print, and/or an “I’m printing today-here are some pictures”, etc., goes a long way to creating community.

I think it’s safe to say that everyone had a Fantabulous Print Day in May 2010! Thanks to everyone who participated and shared studios, food and good times. Be sure to take a gander at all the comments posted here. And check out (to the right) 2010 Printmakers Pages.

It’s here! Ready, set, PRINT!!

In fact, it was already here in Australia (check out Printing Down Under to the right under 2010 Printmakers). What fun!

Join the MPC Fine Art Print Club for a Print Day in May! Just make the commitment to print somewhere, somehow, on Saturday May 1. Send us a note letting us know where and when you’ll be printing. A phone # if possible. We will let everyone know who is participating. We can call each other, blog about it or just revel in the fact that we are all taking some time to do what we love to do.
